Dipstick Calibration
One of the leading causes for transmission failure on late model vehicles is due to improper dipstick calibration. At highway speeds, the fluid level on many new model vehicles is well below the pan rail and lots of times low on the filter.
Taking the advice of other rebuilders all over the world, we have taken the time to check dipstick calibration with the pan off, usually during a rebuild, and have found that many transmissions are running without sufficient fluid. These transmissions survive fairly well when new, or rebuilt, because of tight tolerances. They will survive much longer with sufficient fluid.
